FAQ Tips and Hints for Fragrance Lamp Users:
The essential oils & fragrances used to scent catalytic fragrance lamp fuels will occasionally build up in the stone wick, clogging the wick and making it a challenge to light or stay lit. There are several easy solutions to this issue:Transfer any unused fuel from your fragrance lamp back to the bottle. Replace the wick in your empty fragrance lamp and light it, letting it burn off any fragrance oil buildup. Remove the wick and let it dry out completely.
Use our wick cleaner to cleanse your stone wick. Fill your fragrance lamp as you normally would with the wick cleaner and light it. The wick cleaner will help burn off the fragrance buildup in your stone wick.
Soak your stone and wick for about 1 hour in a small bowl of Wick Cleaner. This helps break down the fragrance that has collected in the stone.
The best way to avoid a clogged stone is to fill your lamp with only as much fuel as you intend to burn at one time and let it burn completely out. Never fill more than 1/2-2/3 full. Avoid leaving fuel in the fragrance lamp as the fragrance tends to collect in the stone when the lamp is not burning. Fragrance lamps, which using a catalytic technology and a low temperature, flameless wick, replace unwanted smells with wanted ones.
